Deputy Commisioner Jammu Inaugrates The Fete At Heritage School

A fete for the students of Heritage School was organized in the school premises by the teachers to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 14th November. It was an endeavor on part of the staff and management to give students a fun filled day as well as renew their commitment to the welfare of children and teach them to live by their Chacha Nehru's dream.
The Chief Guest Sh. Sanjeev Verma I.A.S, Deputy Commissioner Jammu declared the eagerly awaited event open. In his addressed he congratulated the management for providing world class infra-structure and contemporary education, which would help empower the students - the future stakeholders of the society - to realize their own dreams. He opined the education is and will continue to be the basis for social and economic transformation. It also fosters a society that provides benefits to all.
Various stalls of games, joy-rides, bouncy and eatables like momos , pizza , cold drinks, ice-creams , burger, sandwiches etc were put up for the students. The main attraction the fete was the D.J. The students immensely enjoyed themselves and spent the whole day in fun and frolic. .
Heritage wins Ist position in State Level Inter School Group Song Competition

Heritage School, Sainik Colony, Jammu , clinched Ist position in Inter School National Hindi Group Song Competition organized at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu under the aegis of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Jammu & Kashmir.
On the occasion IGP , Jammu, Mr. Dilbag Singh was the Chief Guest and the other dignitaries present on the occasion were Deputy Commissioner Income Tax, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Mrs. Nalini Kohli, Principal Govt. College Women Gandhi Nagar.
Ten teams from various school of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the competition. The team which brought laurels to Heritage School comprised of Tanwi Koushal, Tavleen Kour, Ankita Chopra, Shivangi Mahajan, Avleen Kour , Kauneet Kour Juhi Nath and Dohma Sharma. They were trained by Mr. Sham. They will now complete at the National level at Bangalore, with the other teams coming from all over India.
Heritage School also has the honour of representing J&K State in the year 2009 where they won 5th position in 35th Hindi
National Group Song competition at Vishkapatnam.
Heritage School Wins Dance Competition

Heritage School won the inter school Dance Competition held at Kala Kendra on Saturday 29th of October ‘2011. The competition was organized by the Education Department in collaboration with the Red Cross Society. Six schools, along with groups from the Dance Academy Jammu, contested for the best choreographed dance performance in the senior group category where in the troupe of Heritage School danced its way to the top position. The participants were Ms. Poorvi, Ms. Diksha, Ms.Nandita, Ms.Prathana, Ms.Baneet, Ms.Saloni, Ms.Avlen, Ms.Aashna, Ms.Harneet, Ms.Amreen, Ubaid, Manmeet, Manavdeep, Mohak, Rajan, Shivam, Siddarth and Pronay.They were trained by Mrs. Shalani Sharma.
HERITAGE SCHOOL SHINES AGAIN

Shreya Bharti, a student of Class XI of Heritage School Jammu, has done the institution proud by bagging 10th position among top 20 students selected from all over the Country to represent India in the Seventeenth United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change ( COP- 17) to be held at Durban in South Africa from 28th November to 9th December 2011.
Shreya is the only student selected from the State of Jammu and Kashmir in a nationwide online competition on Climate Change organized by Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Govt. of India, Ministry of Environment and Forest, under the aegis of WWF India J&K.
Thirteen hundred students from all over the country participated in this selection process for ‘ Change Agents’ ( student delegation) , the result of which was declared online on 7th of Oct.
She worked under the able guidance of her teachers Ms. Subeena Dogra and Mrs. Neha sharma . Shreya will now be attending an Orientation and Briefing programme of ten days commencing from 17th of Oct. 2011 at Ahemedabad.
While we acknowledge her achievement, we also wish her and her team of teachers all the best in all future ventures.
Heritage School wins Ist prize in National Hindi Group Song Competition.

Heritage School Jammu won Ist prize in National Group Song Competition in Hindi organized by ASN Higher Secondary School, Jammu on Ist Oct. 2011 under the aegis of Bharat Vikas Parishad , Shivalik Branch, Channi Himmat , Jamu.
The members of winning team were Tavleen Kour ( XI) Shivangi Mahajan ( XI) Ankita ( XI) Avneet Kour ( X) Kawneet Kour ( X) Juhi Nath ( X) , Tanvi Koushal ( IX) and Dolma Sharma (VII) . The team also won 2nd prize in Sanskrit Song Competition.They were trained and guided for the competition Mr. Sham ,Music Teacher , Heritage School.
DC Jammu Mr. Sanjeev Sharma was the Chief Guest . The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Mr. Saujanya Sharma ( Guest of Honour) , Principal and Management of ASN Higher Secondary School.

Students of Heritage School, Jammu participated in Jammu Gold Cup Hockey and Speed Championship organized by J&K Roller Skating Association from 23rd to 25th of Sept. 2011 at Skating Rink, Peerkho.
The Heritageans brought laurels to their school by their fine performance . Kartekeya Puri of 3rd B bagged gold and a sliver medals. Manil Wadhera ( 5th B) won a sliver and a bronze medal. Maahitva Sharma , Deevanshu Sharma ( 5th E) and Aditya Sharma ( 6th B ) won a silver medal each. Akriti Mahajan ( 3rd A bagged a bronze medal.
Adding another feather to the school’s cap. the following students of Heritage School Keshav (11) Jaspreet ( 11) and Druv Mahajan( 10) of under 19 team
and Nitin Kumar of Class ( 9) of ( under 17 team ) represented Jammu District Hand Ball team which was declared winner in the Championship held at Gulshan ground , organized by Youth Services and Sports from 23rd , 24th of Sept. 2011.

Students of Heritage School participated in Inter District Mini Boys and Sub Junior Girls, Handball Tournament organized by J&K Handball Association held at Parade Ground Jammu from 17th Sept to 20th Sept. 2011 . In the semi-finals Heritage School, thrashed Tiger Club by 7 – 2 goals. For Heritage School, Rameez scored three goals while Sidharth and Jasmeet scored two and one goal respectively . In the finals they gave a tough fight on the field and won the Runners up trophy in Mini Boys category and bagged third place in , Sub Junior Girls category. On the basis of the performance of players in these matches, two students of Heritage School, Manavdeep Singh ( VIII A) and Amulaya Mahajan ( VII D) have been selected to represent Jammu and Kashmir team for Mini Boys Handball National Tournament to be held at Chennai from 25th Sept. to 30th Sept. 2011. |

Mahima Sagarof Class XA , Heritage School Jammu won second prize in Inter School Debate Competition organized by Carmel convent School on 13th Sept. 2011, wherein 13 schools from Jammu Participated . The topic for debate was “ Is Girl Child Safe in India ? Mahima spoke against the motion. Rhythm Babbar of Class VIIIA who was also part of the team representing Heritage School spoke for the motion. |

HERITAGE SCHOOL ATTENDS TRAINING PROGRAMME ON MODEL ROCKETRY |

Students from Heritage School attended a three day workshop from 5th Sept. to 7th Sept.2011 on Model Rocketry organized by the National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society ( NCURDS) , Jammu at Guru Gobind Singh Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani. With the aim of spreading awareness and establishing Model Rocketry Clubs to perpetuate scientific temper, a comprehensive training about fabrication of single and double stage model rockets was conducted on the first 2 days with every participant making one rocket each. On the 3rd day, the rockets were testfired and maximum height ( apogee) of their flights worked out with the help of tracking devices. The workshop was conducted by Senior Scientists Sh. Mohd. Farooq and Participants from Heritage School were Arnav Gupta, Simran kaur and Gaurav Charak from Class XII accompanied by Mrs. Vandana Jasrotia. |

HERITAGE CELEBRAES TEACHER’S DAY |

Keeping up the traditions of Guru Shishya Parampara Heritage School, Sainik Colony, Jammu, celebrated Teacher’s Day with traditional fervor and enthusiasm.The day kick – started with the morning assembly wherein the students paid tribute to their teachers by expressing their gratitude for all the effort and hardwork put in by their teachers.Later in the day the students showed their love and appreciation for the teachers by putting up a wonderful cultural programme. The cultural programme began with the esteemed Chairperson,Heritage School, Mrs. Sunita Gupta, unveiling the portrait of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.The programme ended with the Principal address Mr. Sangiv Asthana , who in his speech highlighted the roleof teacher’s in national building. He also appreciated the hardwork and commitment of the teachers to the institution , and the dedication that they are working with to give responsible citizens to society.

HERITAGE SCHOOLWINS THE BEST DOCUMENTARY PRIZE |

Documentary titled ‘ Atrocities on Women and its Eradication’ , produced by the students of Heritage School Jammu was adjudged the best in a tough competition held at Presentation Convent School Jammu on August 23, 2011, the result of which was declared on August 26 , 2011. The judges were Mr. Pradeep Dutta from Times Now , Mr. Neeraj Upadhaya from CNN IBN and Mr. Vikram Sharma from Hindustan Times. They praised the documentary as being very realistic , well videographed and well presented leaving an imprint on the minds and hearts of the viewers . The documentary also won the best prize for Cinematography. The students who produced the documentary are - Ishan Singh , Tavleen Kour, Riya Arora , Mahima Sagar , Shreya Bharti and Dixit Jain from classes 10th and 11th guided by Mr. Harbans Singh, Mr. Vikas Sawhney,. Miss Subeena Dogra and Mrs. Nivedita Vasudeva. |

Scouts and Guides camp was conducted in the premises of Heritage School under the guidance of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Jammu. Sixty students (Scouts and Guides) participated in 4 Days and one Night ‘Pravesh Camp’, which culminated with bon-fire and cultural programme presented by Scouts and Guides.
